Chapter 2, Reading the Field, situates trends in K-12 school climate alongside aspects of teacher education, namely–curriculum and instruction, critical reflection, and the development of teacher dispositions–while traversing queer content and pedagogy. The near silence surrounding queer inclusion in teacher education leads to an overview of why addressing queer issues in teacher education is vitally important and long overdue.
